Our founders, Wyatt and Grace, launched Underdog Coffee in 2012 with a mission to create top quality, ethically-produced coffee.
Today, Underdog sells over a million cups of coffee a year and we still ensure that all of our beans are sourced ethically, roasted locally and priced fairly, so both our suppliers and clients receive a fair deal.
We supply both coffee and top rate commercial coffee machines to offices and hospitality clients all over the UK, and we’re backed up by a nationwide network of service and support staff second to none. Whether you’re a startup in Soho, a leisure centre in London, a cafe in Cornwall, a warehouse in Wales, an office in Oswestry, or a hotel in Hull, we can help you find your perfect coffee solution.
Our coffee is really, really good. In fact, as well as being Fairtrade, all of our coffees are rated Specialty Grade or higher by the Specialty Coffee Association of America (the SCAA), making them among the best-tasting coffees in the world. You can read more about each of our roasts here.
Perhaps like you, we don’t think you should have to compromise taste or quality when you buy Fairtrade coffee. That’s why we work hard to find farms and co-ops who are producing top rate coffee but also meeting the stringent criteria needed to achieve Fairtrade standard.
When possible, we also source coffees that are Organic and Rainforest Alliance certified.
Ethical Business Practice
Fairtrade coffee means our growers get a fixed minimum price on top of a Fairtrade premium, and this helps them invest in their—and their farms’—futures. We actively look to source coffees from co-operatives that are doing something a bit special, such as supporting womens’ weaving groups.
We always do our best to look after the little guy, so if you’re a public sector company, a charity, or someone trying to do something great for your community – please get in touch and we’ll see if we can do special rates for you. We think quality, ethically-sourced coffee should be affordable for everyone.
Meet The Team
Bethany, Head of Coffee
Beth is our resident Bookworm and when she’s not dealing with all things coffee she loves diving into a collection of novels, with her favourite author being Kate Morton. Beth has read a total number of 353 books since 2011 and the number is going up every week. Beth will be your main point of call for coffee enquiries and orders, always making sure the purchasing process remains as easy as possible.
Nathan, Placement Student
Nathan, he is our placement student for 2018/2019 and has recently joined Underdog to take control of all things social. His passion, creativity and love of social interaction have made him a perfect fit for Underdog. When he’s not coming up with new and interesting ideas for our brand he loves attending music events, where he see all the new and upcoming DJ’s.
It is our pleasure to introduce you to the lovely Grace, the commander and chief of all of our marketing activities here at Underdog. Grace’s creative flair and innovative thinking mean that she is always coming up with a new and and exciting ideas of how we can reach new audiences. When Grace isn’t in the office, she is a full-time mum of two crazy boys (well three including Wyatt), and whether she’s in the office or not – Grace’s mind is always buzzing with new ideas for Underdog – so keep your eyes peeled!
Now to introduce you to the other head honcho – Wyatt Cavalier, the other half of the brains behind the brand. Wyatt is more commonly found directing our sister company Bibium – a review site for coffee machines, with his business orientated brain always conjuring up new and exciting ideas for how to disrupt the world of coffee. When Wyatt isn’t commandeering the Bibium ship, he loves listening to country and western music and attempting to educate our placement student Nathan on films and music – to very little success.
Prince, Resident Office Dog
Last but certainly not least, we introduce you to the cute and fluffy face of the office, no we don’t mean Nathan, we’re talking about our office pooch Prince. Full of life and craziness, he is a cuddly little monkey who loves a snuggle on the sofa or even on your lap whilst you work away. He transforms twice a year, with his 6 month haircut making him look even cuter (if that was possible) and you wouldn’t believe the difference.
